Common Violations

§ 4.01
Failure to Maintain Minimum Daily Hug Quota
All citizens must administer or receive no fewer than four (4) hugs per day.
Penalty: Mandatory side-hug training (8 hours)
§ 4.02
Unauthorized Pat-on-the-Back Substitution
A pat on the back is NOT a hug. This is hug fraud.
Penalty: Written apology + 2 make-up hugs
§ 4.03
Excessive Air-Hugging in a No-Air Zone
Air hugs are only permitted in quarantine zones and at distances exceeding 6 feet.
Penalty: Real hug, supervised
§ 4.07
Operating a Hug Under the Influence of Awkwardness
If you cannot complete a hug without saying "well, this is weird," you are not fit to hug.
Penalty: Hug confidence seminar (3 days)
§ 4.12
Premature Hug Release
A hug must be held for a minimum of 1.5 seconds. Anything less is a "touch and go" and is classified as hug negligence.
Penalty: Extended hug therapy (minimum 4-second holds)
